An enchanted interlude that has just celebrated its 20th anniversary, Le Manège does not skimp when it comes to booking today’s top bands and musicians, packing the Lorient express with local passengers every week.

For twenty years Le Manège has held its own as a full-time venue, presenting 3 or 4 gigs a week for local residents of the French seaport of Lorient. The association responsible for the fast-paced running of this venue, the MAPL (French acronym for Contemporary Music in Pays de Lorient), also organises the autumn festival that goes by the name of Les IndisciplinéEs, a brilliant mix of rock, electro, metal, indie pop, French chanson and folk. Never staid and sensible, this festival loves to introduce its public to new music and support projects that are off the beaten track. And the proof of the pudding? Two sure-fire certainties have already appeared there, Two Door Cinema Club and Alt-J.

Faithful to its philosophy of developing Lorient’s current sounds, Le Manège would be nothing without its studios, with duplicated, high-performance gear that is up and running at full tilt. In addition to rehearsal and recording studios, the Plug & Play facility helps bands keep on pushing straight ahead, backed by advice and guidance from technicians, musicians and other professionals.
An enchanted interlude open all year round, Le Manège is open to all comers, rocking horses, young colts and proven thoroughbreds alike. But all the performers have one thing in common: pure sound.
